The BS/MD Advantage

What Competitive Applicants Know and How to Start Preparing Now

With Dr. Dres, physician and founder of Medical Explorers

Some students start medical school at 18. I was one of them. Combined BS/MD and BA/MD programs let high school students apply for undergraduate and medical school together, but many families learn about them too late to prepare. In this free live masterclass, I'll show you how these programs work, what admissions committees look for, and how to use the high school years well.

In this masterclass, I'll walk you through

Two paths to becoming a physician: How the traditional route compares with combined BS/MD and BA/MD programs, and why some programs take six, seven, or eight years.

What these programs look for: How holistic admissions works: academics, experiences, leadership, essays, recommendations, and interviews.

The questions to ask every program: Progression requirements, academic support, attrition, and what happens if a student misses a milestone.

How to use your high school years well: What matters when preparing, what families often overlook, and why the best time to start is before applications open.

Who this is for

High school students: You're interested in medicine and want to know whether a combined BS/MD or BA/MD program fits you, and how to prepare while there is still time to grow.

Parents: You want a clear picture of how these programs work, what they require after admission, and how to help your student plan the high school years.

New to BS/MD programs or already researching them, this masterclass is for you.

Dr. Morgan Dresvyannikov
(Dr. Dres)

I started medical school at 18 through UMKC's six-year BA/MD program, and I'm the first doctor in my family. I've been on both sides of UMKC admissions interviews, first as an applicant and later as an interviewer.

Today I'm a physician and the founder of Medical Explorers, where I've worked with more than 1,100 students since 2018.
